Job Description:
Design, develop, manage and support SQL Server databases that include but not limited to- writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, managing permissions etc.
Optimization of queries and maintain database performance.
Debugging queries and stored procedures using SQL Server Profiler.
Develop SSIS based solutions.
Creating and maintaining SQL Agent jobs.
Develop, deploy and support SSRS based reporting solutions.
Automate deployment process.
Technical documentation for database like Database Modeling, Data Dictionary, Technical Specification, Operations Guide, Process Flow etc.
Ensuring quality releases for highly scalable systems.
Work with development team to create sound architecture designs and implement best practices.
Work collaboratively with a team of diverse and talented peers in various disciplines including architecture, program management and software development to provide input on feature and product designs.
Participate actively in detailed design, code reviews, and bug discussions and support well informed decisions towards business and engineering goals to effectively solve software challenges.
Influence the design, code, and architecture of applications by reviewing requirements, functional specifications, design, data models, code, and test plans.
Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems.
Ensure that established standards, processes and best practices are adhered to.
Work under limited supervision executing the responsibilities of the job and ensure that all commitments and deliverables are met.
Minimum 3 years of experience on MS SQL Server (version 2008/2008 R2/2012).
At least 3 years of experience in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
At least 2 years of experience in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
At least 0-1 year of experience in SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services).
Expertise in designing, developing and maintaining databases.
Expertise in writing, analyzing, debugging and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication and High Availability strategies for MS SQL Server environments.
Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience with Agile and Scrum development.
Good insights into dealing with data.
Ability to think strategically, but execute pragmatically.
Thrive in a fast-paced work environment and demonstrate an ability to quickly come up to speed with new technologies.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
