The Role
The purpose of the job is to create CAD models/ manufacturing
drawings, BOM for sub-systems used in mining equipments and to ensure the
quality of drawings produced by Design Engineers. The job is about providing
engineering support to various PDCs within Sandvik Mining in Current Product
Engineering, New product Development Engineering and Order based Engineering
activities.
Key Performance Areas:
- Creation of right-level-of-detail CAD models / manufacturing drawings
- Creation of BOM / ECN for release of drawings for production
- Perform design calculations for design verification
Your Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred 2 - 3
years of design experience in heavy earth moving equipments,Sound knowledge of
NX / Teamcenter, Experience on FEA tools is an added advantage
Key Required Competencies:
- Mechanical Engineering : Level 2 (Basic understanding – Professional)
- Describes mechanical engineering and its instruments/methods/processes.
- Evaluates and uses suitable methods/manuals/instructions for processes within mechanical engineering and documents results in technical reports.
- Interacts with others, within own team, in matters regarding mechanical engineering.
- Works independently according to defined processes /instruction within one or more mechanical engineering disciplines and takes responsibility for own professional development.
Machine Design : Level 2 (Basic Understanding)
- Summarizes all the steps for developing a new product or service.
- Describes the basic tools used for design and development.
- Describes basic machine mechanisms and their applications.
- Identifies current and prior design and development successes and failures in the organization.
- R&D/E processes, workflows and routines
- System knowledge of CAD (Unigraphics NX), PLM (Teamcenter)
- Oral & Written Communication in English
