JOB TITLE: R & D Associate                                        

JOB LOCATION: Unilever R & D Bangalore                   

DEPARTMENT: Research/Development

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Work on Ice Cream innovation/ renovation/ Value improvement projects for both product and process development

Purpose of the job:

1.   Planning and execution of experiments

Develop an experimental plan after discussion with the  line manager and conduct relevant experiments at lab-scale and pilot-scale ( Individual responsibility )

2.  Data Analysis and drawing inferences for future course of action

Conduct a thorough analysis of the data and base planning of further experimentation on the inferences drawn from the data analysis. (joint responsibility with line manager)

a)  Product development: Developing appropriate ice cream / frozen dessert products / refreshment formulations within the regulatory framework

b)  Process development:  Establishing appropriate technology for manufacturing a product to specification at lab-scale, pilot-scale and factory scale.

c)  Shelf-life stability:  Conduct shelf-life studies to establish shelf-life of new products and/or intervene through formulation/recipes to enhance shelf-life

d)  Product characterization: Use appropriate measurement techniques (either existing or develop new techniques) to characterize key attributes of the product

e)  Process scale-up: Establish technology developed at pilot-scale in HUL factories to enable commercial production; trouble-shooting at factory-scale when required enhance Ice Cream /beverage processing technology: continuously look for / experiment with new technologies /recipes to develop products that offer tangible, new benefits to the consumer

Qualification: B. Tech. (Dairy Technology/ Dairy Engineering) Or Masters /

M. Sc. Dairy Science &  Tech. with relevant experience.

Experience :  6 months - 2 years, preferably dairy industry experience from reputed industry/organisation
