Platform Operations Engineer responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Assist in the Testing, implementation and Operational stages of Windows projects.
Configuration and installation of all server hardware, installation of the operating system and third party products onto the system, maintain software applications.
Act as a technical expert and advisor on Windows and Provide advanced Tier III resolutions for complex customer issues
Participate in 24x7 support rotational schedule
Any other duties as assigned by management
Education: B.E, B. Tech, MCA/ M.SC, Diploma in IT
Experience: 3 to 6 year (Hands on)
Required Skills:
Technical, analytical, interpersonal and organization skills
Should have a very broad spectrum and knowledge of Microsoft platform and supporting infrastructure such as AD, DNS and DHCP
Knowledge of Windows Servers, workstations, anti-virus and other various software applications.
Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal.
Good team player and can go well with others team members
Ability to work independently
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task to cover 24x7 support
Working knowledge of:
1) Experience with Independent and Access Management in Microsoft platform.
2) Windows Administration, Clustering, Monitoring, Troubleshooting, Migration & Upgrade on:
- Active directory and Windows based domains
- Group Policy
- DNS, DHCP servers
- Mail servers (MS Exchange)
- Antivirus solutions (Symantec, McAfee, etc.)
- Backup solutions (Netback up, Symantec backup exec, Arc Server etc.)
- TCP/ IP and Networking basics.
- DFS shares
3) HP, IBM and Dell hardware including Blade servers.
4) Netback up storage environments.
5) Microsoft PKI and DNS knowledge
6) Networking knowledge with focus on real time media and quality of service.
7) Server Platform Knowledge (Windows Server 2012, 2008 R2)
