💼 About the Role: Data Engineering & Analytics Specialist
As a Data Engineering & Analytics team member at Optum,
you’ll help build robust data solutions that fuel strategic decisions across
human resources and business operations. From data modeling and transformation
to BI dashboards and cloud platform integration, your work will support global
teams in improving health equity and optimizing care delivery.
🧾 Key Responsibilities
·
Design
and implement data models, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing strategies
·
Work
on cloud-based platforms (e.g., Azure) with a focus on data storage and
ecosystem integration
·
Develop
dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau, DOMO, or QlikView
·
Perform
data validation, quality assurance, and analytics on HR and operational data
·
Collaborate
with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable
insights
·
Analyze
datasets related to HR analytics: demographics, DEI, hiring, turnover, and
survey data
·
Provide
support for ad hoc reporting and business intelligence use cases
·
Ensure
data accuracy, security, and governance across systems
·
Maintain
flexibility to adapt to changes in projects, teams, or work locations as needed
🎓 Preferred Qualifications
·
Graduate/Postgraduate
in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
·
Experience
working with Azure or other cloud platforms
·
Hands-on
experience in HR Analytics, BI/data teams, or HR systems like PeopleSoft
·
Familiarity
with data transformations, quality control, and data segmentation
·
Proficiency
in SQL, data visualization tools, and ETL processes
·
Understanding
of data security, architecture, and database design
·
Knowledge
of HR datasets including DEI, surveys, hiring & retention metrics
