🌍 About the Role – Big Data Engineer / Analyst
At Standard Chartered, we combine global reach with agile
innovation. We’re looking for a skilled Big Data Engineer or Analyst to join
our FCSO development team, bringing strong programming skills, deep data
expertise, and a collaborative mindset.
In this role, you’ll work on regulatory data processes, build
ELT pipelines, and support high-impact projects with enterprise-level
technologies like Hadoop, PySpark, Hive, SQL, Control-M, and Azure DevOps.
💼 Key Responsibilities
·
Analyze
raw, unstructured data and turn it into actionable insights
·
Design,
develop, and maintain data pipelines in Hadoop and Spark
·
Implement
solutions using SQL and Hive to handle large datasets
·
Work
collaboratively in Agile and Waterfall environments
·
Ensure
code quality, versioning, and adherence to standards
·
Use
Control-M or similar tools for workflow orchestration
·
Contribute
to regulatory and business conduct compliance by embedding risk-aware
development practices
·
Drive
continuous improvement by learning new tools and techniques
🧠 Skills and Technologies
Required:
·
Hadoop
/ HDFS
·
Apache
Hive
·
SQL
·
PySpark
·
Bash
Scripting
·
Strong
debugging and analytical skills
·
Agile
/ SDLC understanding
Preferred:

Reporting
tools like Tableau, MSTR, or Dataiku
·
Knowledge
of ELT/ETL pipelines and Data Warehousing

Azure

Familiarity
with Control M (or similar orchestration tools)

Bachelor’s
or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
·
1–3
years of relevant experience (freshers with strong skills are also welcome)
