JOB DESCRIPTION

Cisco seeks a Software Engineer to define, design and build software for the Cisco products that generate significant revenue.
 You will champion new methodologies and creat scalable software solutions that interact with widely deployed Internet products, thereby touching an endless number of users worldwide. Be part of the Cisco organization that is driving the evolution and expansion into new technology areas and market segments. The ideal candidate demonstrates a system-level focus while understanding the impact of every component. Broad knowledge of and exposure to network protocols as well as embedded and real-time operating systems are essential for success in this role. Participate (in a senior/ lead role) on a project team of engineers involved in development of software for Cisco products. Requires use of a strong background in SW design, documentation and implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list of responsibilities: Lead project team on the build of a major SW release, including building the software, coordinating with other departments, and participating in scheduling (from conception to testing). Architect, design and deliver system software after specification of platform requirements. Demonstrate a high degree of originality and innovation in defining product and project level architecture. Significantly influences the design of interfaces between products to ensure interoperability.
Resolve design issues.
Define new software product features. Develop large portions of software independently and rapidly. Champion new, improved design methodologies.
Define Reliability, Availability, Servicability (RAS) goals for products. Incorporate RAS in product design. Typically requires MSEE/CS 2011/ 2012 Pass out
