🔍 Key Responsibilities
As a QA Engineer in Nokia's Optical Networks Division, your
day-to-day will include:
·
Testing and validating optical
network planning tools (DWDM, OTN, ROADM, GMPLS)
·
Designing and executing test plans,
test cases, and scripts
·
Performing functional, regression,
and integration testing
·
Simulating real-world network
scenarios for validation
·
Logging and tracking bugs using tools
like JIRA or Bugzilla
·
Collaborating with product managers,
network engineers, and developers
·
Providing feedback on UI, usability,
and product performance
·
Contributing to the improvement of QA
documentation and standards
🧠 Required Skills & Experience
·
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications,
Electrical, Computer Science, or related field
·
0–2 years of experience in telecom,
optical networking, or software testing
·
Knowledge of optical technologies
(DWDM, SDH/SONET, OTN, ROADM)
·
Understanding of Layer 0/1/2 network
topologies
·
Familiarity with network
planning/design tools
·
Hands-on with JIRA, TestRail, or
equivalent QA tools
·
Strong skills in problem-solving,
analysis, and communication
·
Knowledge of network simulation
environments and telecom standards (ITU-T, MEF, IEEE)
·
Bonus: Experience with Python, Selenium,
REST APIs, and DevOps practices
